LAYZABETH GONZALEZ
Hello! I’m Layzabeth Gonzalez, a dance artist and educator from Brownsville, TX with a BFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University. Over the past 10 years, I’ve taught a wide range of classes from creative movement for toddlers to professional development for educators and have taught with organizations like Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Ballet Hispánico in New York City. Mentorship and artistry are at the heart of my work, and I believe everyone deserves access to the resources that help bring our creative visions to life.

Artistic Statement
I see dance as a journey of self-discovery - a way to transform, express, and connect across space, time, and lineage. In my teaching, I nurture both the technical foundation and the unique artistry each dancer carries, helping them uncover their voice and purpose in every movement. I strive to create spaces where students feel empowered to share their stories, push boundaries, and take pride in where they come from.
Bailando Sin Fronteras lives at the heart of this vision: a mindset and initative born from my experience as a dance artist who grew up along the Mexican-American border. It is a response to the systemic structures that too often keep talented artists from entering the field. Through mentorship, advocacy, and access to resources, I imagine and work toward a dance world where creativity flows freely, where stories rise unapologetically, and where no one’s brilliance is held back by circumstance.
